Communities and professionals across Canada identify stigma within the healthcare system, specifically structural stigma, as a key barrier to implementing a public health approach to substance use.
The Challenging Structural Stigma Workshop Package, developed in partnership with CAPSA, is designed to provide a comprehensive learning opportunity for health and social service providers who work in the substance use health field. It will equip professionals with the knowledge and skills needed to:
- identify different forms of stigma;
- advocate for change;
- meaningfully partner with people with lived or living experience of substance use.
