Sure - Canadian Substance Use Resource and Knowledge Exchange Centre

The goal of this document is to provide useful guidance for clinicians on either preventing the development of Cannabis Use Disorder (CUD) or optimally assessing and treating older adults who have developed such a disorder. These guidelines have been developed due to the paucity of information that surrounds the relationship between cannabis used and the impact of aging processes such as changing physiology, metabolism, and the increase in polypharmacy. These guidelines should be used as a complement to other reliable sources of information. While clinicians may choose to authorize cannabis for medical purposes in older patients this document will not focus on possible medical uses, but instead, it seeks to address issues of non-medical cannabis use and CUD in older adults.
