This article highlights the challenges faced by individuals living with opioid use disorder (OUD) in healthcare settings and the lack of guidance on pain management with opioids for individuals with OUD. The article also explores stigma entrenched within the healthcare system and the need to address stigma at individual, interpersonal, community, and structural levels. Suggestions are provided for patients, healthcare professionals, and the community to combat stigma and improve care for those with OUD.
